Sofiana Lindemann’s research focuses on processes at the interface of semantics and pragmatics, including anaphora resolution and information structure.

Sofiana completed her dissertation work at the German Linguistics Department at the University of Stuttgart, Germany in July 2011. Prior to that, she was a visiting scholar the the Department of Linguistics at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA and she received a Magister Artium in German and English language and literature at the University of Stuttgart, Germany, in July 2007.

She held positions at the University of Stuttgart (2007-2012) as well as at the University of Köln, Germany (2012-2015). She is currently emplyed at the department of German language (linguistics) at the Transilvania University of Brasov.

Dr. Stanca Mada

Stanca Măda’s research interests include professional communication, media, humour, and political studies, from an applied linguistics perspective - pragmatics, sociolinguistics, (critical) discourse analysis.

 

Stanca obtained a Bachelor’s degree in philology, specialising in Romanian and English Language and Literature (1999 - Transylvania University of Brașov), a Master’s degree in Linguistics and Communication (2000 - University of Bucharest), and a Ph.D. in philology (2008 - University of Bucharest), with a thesis on Aspects of Workplace Communication.

 

She was a member in national and international research projects, published books and articles in her fields of expertise, and co-edited thematic volumes with John Benjamins Publishing House and the Transilvania University Publishing House.

 

Since 2008 she has been teaching courses as a member of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics of the Faculty of Letters at the Transylvania University of Brasov.

Dr. Laura Sasu

Laura Sasu’s research interests include contrastive linguistics, translation studies, terminology, comparative literature and cultural studies.

Laura obtained a Bachelor’s degree in philology, specialising in English and German Language and Literature (2000 - Transilvania University of Brasov), a Master’s degree in English-German Translation studies. Terminology. Conference Interpreting. (2003 - Bucharest University) and a doctorate in philology in the field of Literature and Cultural Studies (2014 - Transilvania University of Brasov). Since 2003 she has been teaching and was involved in research activities as a member of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics of the Faculty of Letters at the Transilvania University of Brasov.
